Set on the 13th floor of the Five-Star Peninsula Hotel Shanghai, Sir Elly’s dining destination offers European cuisine with an Asian twist paired with impressive choice of wine list accompanied by breathtaking views of the skyscrapers of the Pudong district, Huangpu River and the historic buildings that line Bund. The restaurant’s kitchen headed by French Chef de Cuisine Hans Zahner and Executive Pastry Chef Lucien Gautier uses the freshest ingredient available with minimum butter and sugar in the dishes.

AMBIENCE
The interior decoration is made up of an impressive chandelier, luxurious red hues, and immaculately dressed tables. Pretty chic. If the weather proves pleasing, make sure to dine at the awesome terrace bar for the best experience.
SERVICE
The staff are very friendly, professional and speak multiple languages. Beautifully presented dishes served in perfect timing obviously make it a great experience. Genuine, not haughty service is the highlight.
FOOD
Highlights on the short rotating menu full of delicacies include roasted Australian wagyu beef tenderloin with confit tomato and vegetables; Irish blue lobster carpaccio with red pepper sorbet and coconut crisps; black cod, lamb and pork, stuffed king frog legs; truffle-stuffed, smoked frog leg with black garlic cream; Caviar tuna tartare, king crab ceviche, scallop with squid ink crisp. For dessert, sample the light and creative sweets: fruits, chocolates, ice-creams and end the meal in style. The cocktails, beer, and wine are refreshingly sweet but very1 expensive.
