Situated on the first floor of the Pudong Shangri-La Hotel, Gui Hua Lou specializes in contemporary Chinese fine dining. Executive Chef Gao Xiao Sheng takes Chinese cuisine to an unparalleled level and transforms traditional Chinese dishes into culinary masterpieces. Even though the hotel is open since 1998, Gui Hua Lou welcomes diners only since 2006.

With over 30 years of culinary experience specialising in Huaiyangese and Cantonese cuisine. Executive Chef Gao Xiao Sheng has created his own cooking style, which focuses on using fresh high-quality ingredients to create authentic dishes that are uncompromising in quality, colour and aroma. Chef Gao’s culinary philosophy embodies the blending Huaiyang and Sichuan cooking styles. In season, Chef Gao serves top-graded hairy crab, with its creamy roe and tender crab flesh, prepared to perfection. Other signature delicacies by Executive Chef Gao include baked cod with miso, signature clay pot and braised sea cucumber with glutinous rice in abalone sauce.
